Monfí Festival in Cútar

Monfí Festival in Cútar

10 October 2026 - 11 October 2026

Provincial Tourist Attraction Festival. More than just a festival, the Monfí is a a tribute to the Al-Andalus legacy that shaped the history of Cútar and much of the ‘white villages’ of the Axarquía.

During this time, Cútar brings its Al-Andalus past to life and transforms its streets into an authentic Arab souk. The scents, the cuisine, the music and the décor transport visitors back to the Muslim era, whilst around forty stalls offer handmade products and traditional specialities, such as the almojábana, a traditional sweet made with fresh cheese.

Local residents, dressed in Andalusian-inspired costumes, take part in parades, performances and dances, inviting visitors to join in.

The programme includes Arabic music, theatre performances about the history of the Moriscos, oriental dances, donkey rides, birds of prey displays and falconry demonstrations.
